This is a picture of two moose taking advantage of the snow and scrounging around in my garden yesterday. :) As you can see the scarecrow is not working! :)
It snowed 8 more inches today! Looks like it is here to stay! It sure is pretty outside right now with all the fresh sno…

Well! The warm days are long gone. It stays anywhere from 30 to -5 now in temps, we have had 3 snowfall days, the snow is melting then piling again. So it looks like winter is getting a firm foothold where I live. That's okay I don't mind. I love winter! :)
It has been a busy season of getting ready for snow, the garden didn't produce a lot this year, the ground stayed too cold, but we did get some broccoli, peas, and cabbages. Which was nice, I finished harvesting what I could and left the res…

We had a big ole' moose trying to eat all my veggies in my garden yesterday. My hubby seen him first, and yelled out the window, but it didn't bother the moose. Then he went out with a pan and spoon and made lots of racket pounding on the pan, which made the moose leave. The moose was still hanging around. My foster daughter sat on the deck and hit the pan with a spoon every time the moose would come into the garden. :)
I wasn't home, but when I heard about it from my hubby, I stopped at the sto…

Wow, our State Governor has been chosen to be running mate to the Presidential Candidate John McCain. He is a smart cookie getting someone like her to work with him.
I know her, she is smart, efficient, has integrity, and can get the job done. I have made a post on my Arcticulates Blog about her.
I really am pleased with this turn of events for the upcoming election here in USA. It has been so up and down this time with news and reports. I am actually looking forward to the elections being over…

We have had some really pretty days after it rained all summer. I am looking forward to this weekend because we will be having four of our grandsons here to help us get the grounds ready for winter, cleaning up, trimming, clearing up, stacking firewood. etc. It is so fun to have them here. They are getting so big now they can help with the heavier workload now and all they want for pay is a ice cream sundae with all the trimmings, Which is fine with me cuz a ice cream sundae is a perfect way to…

Well it has been a really busy past few days! Today I am going to be helping my daughter and son-in-law, paint the walls in their new house. I love to paint walls, I can't paint a picture at all, but when I paint a wall in a house the whole room changes in looks. I really enjoy it, makes me feel like I have done something constructive...
I will be back to my regular posting as soon as things settle down, right now we are entering fall mode, and things are frantic this time a year, getting ready…

Oh, my these past couple of days have been sooo busy! I have only been able to sit at the computer a couple minutes at a time, answer some friends emails and shouts, and click over a couple things checking on stuff, and that was it. The next couple of days will be the same way.
Tomorrow a really great friend of mine will be in town, I haven't seen my friend in ages. She lives in one of the lower 48 states, and getting enough money to buy plane tickets these days is next to impossible. I can't wa…

Finally some sun today! Yippee. I woke up to 28 degrees yesterday and worried about my garden, but since it has been raining so much, I haven't been able to weed it. So I am thinkin' the sheer size of the weeds protected the plants from any frost! Hahaha!
I love to sing, so I am a praise leader in our church, which is what I did at church yesterday and it was so awesome! Everyone joined in with the happy jubilant music! It was so much fun! I like seeing people get free and just worship the Lord…

Yup! It is still raining, and it was 32 degrees outside this morning, Yikes. I hope my garden hasn't frozen!
This is unusual for this time of the year, it usually is around 75'F-80'F or more degrees.
This wet chilly weather seems to be putting a "damper" on even the best of moods here! lol pun intended!
I recently posted a post about volcanoes on my main Arcticulates blog,
And in answer to the question from concerned Weblogian...No one was killed or injured by any of the volcanoes especially…

It is raining here again today, not just a quick thunder/lightening storm, but all day long drizzly/downpour/drizzle, and it is cold too. 40 degrees this morning. It has rained almost all summer, which isn't the norm for the part of Alaska I live in. Now if I lived in Seward, Valdez, Anchorage, or Juneau ,those places get tons of rain all summer and it is expected. I was looking foward to warm sunny days, not cold and rainy.
But we still have approximately one more month to experience warm weat…
